During quarantine 2020 I had an idea to start some sort of online project. The details weren’t final, but the spark was there. Fast forward a bit and a lot of details were put together to create a project where I try new things and document it or, at the very least, talk about having experienced something new. That was early 2021. Fast forward some more to 2023. I finally decided to seriously act upon the idea from 2020. Introducing: A Couple New Things!
Blogging is not a new experience for me. Actually, I’ve blogged on my personal site since 2011. Starting a separate online project that belongs solely to me and requires continued maintenance and content creation is new. To be honest, this was supposed to a YouTube channel. I figured it would be better to get the website up and post about experiences for now until I can figure out how to YouTube (yes, using that as a verb) properly.
I say all of that to say this: A Couple New Things is a learning experience for me. It allows me to not only think creatively, but to take action on creative thoughts. Scripture says this life is but a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Life is short. I hope to not only wander into new experiences, but I hope this community is inspired to do the same. Go out there and try a couple new things!
